In this episode, Dr Jen Fraser and I focus on the interplay between science and the profound social challenges that plague our world and the societal issues we face today. Rather than viewing them solely as moral quandaries, we are encouraged to examine them through the lens of science as we witness a concerning surge in bullying, femicide, and destructive behaviours among the younger generation.
The root cause, lies in our failure to apply scientific principles to nurture our youth effectively,
The heart of the matter lies in fostering deep connections among our youth, and understanding the mechanics of our stress response system, activating the parasympathetic nervous system, which holds the key to tranquillity, empathy, and respect.
Society’s programming, has led us down a path of destruction, but we can change that, from impulsive bullies to empathetic individuals, if we cultivate compassion, and make it an integral part of our education system’s daily curriculum.
The true predictor of a content and prosperous life, is self-regulation. If we equip children from a young age with the skills to navigate their stress response systems and to harness the power of their parasympathetic nervous systems, giving them the foundations of health brains, they will have success and excellence in all walks of life.
